Prayer Ministry
The Bible has much to say about prayer and that there is a universal need for it. We believe that prayer is vital to the ministry of the church. Worship without prayer would be empty and powerless. Preaching that is not bathed in prayer would be absent of the authority and only words falling on deaf ears.
Jesus showed the importance of prayer by sharing the Parable of the Persistent Widow to show His disciples and us that "men should always pray and not give up" (Luke 18:1). Paul wrote that we should "pray continually" (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
At Shelbyville First Church of the Nazarene, we believe in the power of prayer and the power of faith. When these to powers come together, the miraculous happens.
